WUP for Thursday, 3/13

"Nature never did betray the heart that loved her." --William Wordsworth

What does this quote say about the relationship between humans and nature? Present an incident that shows nature's betrayal. What role, if any, did human actions have in that betrayal?

Lit Term

Denotation: the literal meaning of a word; there are no emotions, values, or images associated with denotative meaning. Scientific and mathematical language carries few, if any emotional or connotative meanings.

Vocab Word

aggrandize:
(v.) to increase in greatness, power, or wealth; to build up or intensify; to make appear greater
SYNONYMS: augment, amplify, enhance, exalt
ANTONYMS: reduce, decrease, diminish

Punctuation

Use a semicolon (;) to separate items in a sentence in which there are already numerous commas.
Ex. At the banquet there was Whitey Ford, a former Yankee pitcher; Bob Cousy, a former professional basketball player; and Jack Jones, the toastmaster and comedian.
