Unity

The sight of burning buildings crashing down
People astonished, crying asking for guidance
Helping one another to overcome this great tragedy
Crowds stand united
From that day this country is no longer divided

Raging waters, people floating, mothers lost
Houses crushed, cars disappeared in the dirty water
Races united, tragedy created racial triumph
Floods tore down walls and knocked down racial barriers

Walking together side by side
Making a difference in saving lives
Becoming united as one
So someone can continue seeing the morning's sun

Mothers full of pain and empty hearts
Walking the streets with hopes of being heard
With tears in thier eyes but still ignored
They remain standing tall
They contiue in thier walk
They are united
Fighting so that others won't experience the same heartache

The beauty of this landscape which encaptures my mind fills me with a thought of unknown potential
A strive for success and a faith in oneself that sets itself apart from the visual
The painted picture in ones mind is what brought the necessity of unity
For it appeared that dreams and goals would only be accomplished with this one thing
This now demonstrates the true beauty of unity
